Description

The workshop will consider the treatment of anisotropy in modern crystallographic programs. We aim to cover diffraction data (where a crystal diffracts unequally in different directions), structures (dealing with TLS groups, ADPs etc) and properties (energy frameworks, birefringence, temperature/pressure dependence, etc.). In this school, we aim to learn and teach about the correct treatment of anisotropy in our programs; we will emphasize the programming aspects but will also consider the physics underlying this phenomenon.
